I think I would send their parents a bill it may not get payed but at least they would know their children are wasting our people's hard earn money. I have a 17 year old daughter I would very upset to learn something like this and would take care of it. Just my thoughts.

I'm not going to worry about it, since the birds are eating them. I think they are enjoying their diet today. I'll just have to buy a new bag much sooner than I had expected (hoped).

If it had been teenagers, it would be one thing. But, we're talking about little kids who have never been around chickens before. My 8-year-old daughter should have known better than to get the bag of worms out for them to play with - so she's more at fault. The other kids would have never known where to look for meal worms. Believe me, she and I had a discussion about it this morning and knows that if it ever happens again, she will be doing chores to replace the bag. I have a feeling they got to being silly and just threw the worms into the air for the fun of it.

This morning we had a great visit with Jessica (FireWifeJess) and her kids. She finally got to meet my birds. She brought over a carton of her beautiful, colorful eggs so I could see the many colors. We were a little surprised to see that her RIR lays much lighter eggs than my RIR. Mine are darker brown and some are speckled.

What color eggs are RIRs supposed to lay?

And, I'm off. Just got a text from DH and it looks like we're going to the horse races soon. BIL's two horses are racing today - against each other, again. It's kind of funny that they run against each other every now and then. They've had quite a few wins with these two, and we're hoping they'll have another great race.

That's right!

Oooh, oooh - you left too soon! Both Drama AND Caunnie went into the egg boxes and Rhodie is absolutely beside herself. She's one ticked off chicken! That would be SO COOL if it turned out to be a 3-egg day!
