I can't help but wonder..... IF VEGAN's eat "NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS" Where do ya draw the line. I mean think about NO ANIMAL products REALISTICALLY should also take out all fruits and veggies that require pollination. See if it weren't for the bees that pollinate then there would be NO FRUIT AND VEGGIES ! ! ! But then this is kind of like those who are against logging. I challenge them to convince me that they use NO PAPER products. And just for the record yes I believe in earth first ! We will log the other planets later !!!

And on a little different note. Do you all know that 2 years of no pollination man kind is essentially DONE ! ! ! DEAD ! ! !

Amen! So many diets/lifestyle choices seem to be based on extremes and they are (on average) not healthy for a person or for the environment in the long term. If the population would eat sensibly and in moderation (including consideration for allergies and for morality choices such as line caught fish, humane butchering, etc), live a common-sense lifestyle by simply being aware of and minimizing their environmental footprint, the earth and it's people would be happier/healthier over-all. I guess my point is that simply being AWARE of what I put into my body and the impact my body has on the earth will, by itself, fuel the changes that most of us here are looking for.

DISCLAIMER: This is simply my humble opinion and not any attempt to start or fuel any form of dissent. From what I have read here over the past six months, I believe I'm probably preaching to the choir anyway.

The members of BYC are probably the most down-to-earth and sensible group of people I have ever had the honor of associating with, as evidenced by the fact that many of us got into raising chickens as a small step towards self sufficiency and to help control the food that we put into our bodies.

It one has it treat them all. It is in all soil around and very common. Most develope immunity to it over time. But some will get over run with the protazoa and show signs.
After this I would try to find liquid Corid somewhere to have on hand. It's two tsp per gallon for 3-5 days. And I don't think it messes with the good bacteria in the gut. Just my opinion.

Yes. It kills good bacteria and the bad. You can give them a few tablespoons of yogurt a day during treatment.

I have never heard of anyone owning a hedgehog for a pet. My husband would probably be concerned for my mental stability if I came home with one of those.

He still hasn't gotten over my coming home with 3 baby chicks.

I called our local Co-Op & they gave us: Sulfadimethoxine Soluble Powder

Has anyone used this for individual Birds. I'm confused on the directions for use. It's based on 1 packet (3.77 oz packet) / 50 gallons -They dont use a 50 gallon watering System, its maybe 1 gallon if that......- Since we cant separate our sickly bird and there was bloody stuff in their water, will it be ok to put the solution in the main water that all the birds have access to? --- Guess as a precaution if they all wind up with symptoms as well?

HELP!!!! I was figuring it was lil bottle that I could just use a eyedropper & administer, not a whole packet to put in water.

Cysts (eggs) from Coccidia are shed in poop in relatively large numbers and can withstand some weather. I would DEFINITELY treat everyone!

Still hanging in there. But I'm not noticing much in the way of day to day improvement. I'm dragging my feet with the antibiotics, haven't started them administering yet.
