Cute! When my girls go into our garage, they're looking for stray packing peanuts to eat.

Yeah...I had a small styrofoam cooler that we had received meat in...I accidentally left it in the backyard and hadn't thought to check it out. The girls at through the entire side of it. Yup, they ate a TON of styrofoam that week. All turned out fine luckily but a was really worried!

They are super cute but you can't pet them!!!!

Why? Do they have quills like porcupines?

I just loved how little it was - and those cute little puppy-dog ears and nose. Never seen (or smelled) one in real life though.

If my kids leave the sliding glass door open, my birds think they can walk through the house to the garage where their brooder used to be. We really have to stay on the kids to keep that door shut.

What I would do, if confronted with that situation, is take the frog to the area you were considering and tell DH that it probably went home to its family. That sort of thing is classified as a 'benign deception.' I think Roald Dahl came up with that one.

Many of the packing peanuts we seem to receive are compostable and dissolve very quickly. I've heard they are "edible" - but wouldn't try that though. I have completely dissolved them in water before. They dissolve quick!

We actually named one of our Belgians "Peanut" because she ate an entire one by herself before we could stop her.

My husband and I had a great day at the fair. We met Jessica in the chicken barn and got to see all of the chickens there.

I talked to someone about 4-H and was told that, yes, families are welcome to create their own club. He told me to wait until October 1st to sign up because that is the beginning of the 4-H year. He said they are having trouble making agreements with King County, so we have to wait and see if those agreements can get worked out. There is a possibility that King County will no longer have a 4-H program at all. I hope they get it worked out!

And... it does not look like I am ordering Light Brahma eggs tonight.

DH really doesn't want babies in the garage all winter, and I can respect that. Next spring I should be in the clear. Let's just hope Drama doesn't do something crazy like get this big over the winter...

I've read that Light Brahma's are almost as big at the Jersey Giant. I don't know if this is true or not, but when I saw that big boy, my heart sunk a bit. I had no clue that chickens could get that big! I wish they had a hen to compare him to. Now I feel like I went to the fair and still don't have a clue how big Drama is going to be. They did have Cochin hens - which were also a lot bigger than I expected.

A bantam Light Brahma probably would have been much better suited to our situation. The one we saw was about the size of my RIR and EE.
