I don't know why I'm saying this, must have acclimated, but I look forward to some balmy fall days!! And I get totally depressed by gloomy weather so that's saying something!!! I guess I'm kinda sick and tired of worrying about my chickens baking in their run on these hot days. Look forward to not having to worry about them at all.

So what's my location called to y'all? I'm in Covington but would travel as far as south Seattle, Renton, Issaquah, Puyallup, Auburn, Fed. Way, or even North Bend! I just want to make some sort of Meetup happen soon! Evenings are best, or weekends Anyone near any of those cities want to plan something?

OK, I'm confused...I google mapped Covington, and it shows that it is south of all of those places....where is it?

You know you're beginning to be obsessed with chickens when...


























...you have your first dream about your chickens and one of them is egg bound; and you save said hen and all the hens rejoice by laying 3 eggs each that day.

Oh Cruuudddd, that means I have problems. I have dreams all the time about my girls laying hundreds of eggs in one day and I was surrounded by them all

running in circles cause I was so happy! That is a reacurring dream!

Anyone want to come help me fold 2 weeks worth of laundry? My usual laundry fairy hasn't done her job in weeks!

I finally vacuumed today...have been unable to do anything for a week.....................finally got to take a shower Tuesday (very carefully!) finally crutched out to coops to clean poop trays yesterday...........hard to carry sacks of feed or buckets or drag a hose when you are on crutches !!!

Gosh with this hot weather we're having problems too! Flies everywhere and stink

My pens are all dried up & dusty dry.....poop drying fast here, no stink, no flies.
We do have layers of oyster shell though, and I hear that lime in it can "sweeten" soil.
