ETA: Or... maybe not Seattle. When I read "Greenwood" I was thinking "Greenlake". Not sure where Greenwood is.

Greenwood is in Seattle. It is close to Ballard.

Would a 20gal. tank make a big enough brooder for 3-5 chicks? I can't picture the size from a gallon reference...
Yeah, I think 20 gal tank would be OK for 3-5 chicks for a few weeks. I usually have to keep them until they are large enough to integrate, so I use an XL dog crate. The only issue I have heard about aquariums is that they can hold heat in (solid walls)

He doesn't know about the rabbit? LOL! That sounds like something I would do... hence, DH's reaction when his medication arrived last night.

There *might* be a little bit of mistrust going on. He hasn't quite gotten over coming home from hunting to finding three chicks in the house.

LOL!! Sounds like something I would do too!! Every time my husband would come home from a deployment or the field, he would come home to a new critter! He finally just got to the point where he expected it.

Anyone know where I can find a 40-gallon fish tank for dirt cheap? I have two "free" goldfish that are rapidly outgrowing the 10-gallon tank that they are in. When the kids were given the fish, DH wanted me to flush 'em. Instead, I spent a lot of money buying a tank set-up. Now, they are outgrowing it and I need to get a bigger tank. I've been watching Craig's list but, they're pretty spendy.

40 gal no, but I think we have a 20 or 29 gal along with a box full of fish stuff I'd be happy to give you if your interested. Let me double check with DH to make sure we have it still and I'll get back to you if your interested. PM me.

People who commit crimes KNOW what they are doing is wrong. God created us ALL with a conscience, and regardless of if you believe in God, you were still created by Him with that knowledge of what is right and wrong. People who commit crimes deserve to be punished. We all know how to differentiate right and wrong. And yes, the prison system is disgusting. TV? Are you kidding me? They should sit in their cells with NOTHING but walls to look at so that they have nothing to distract them from thinking about their crime and how it was wrong.

Quote: At the risk of someone getting mad at me I must ask... How is there sympathy for those who have truly done wrong? Expecialy when they have so much freedom and so many privlages in jail that my kids don't even get when they are grounded, like T.V. and use of a phone ect. when what they have done to go to jail is far worse that what ever my children do to become grounded? Again, not trying to make anyone mad or start anything I am just curiouse.

This is assuming that our system of laws is just and enforced fairly, which it most certainly is not. And I don't try to force my atheism onto you, so please do not tell me how I was created by your deity.

Quote: While I do agree that things as far as race are still unfair and I wish it would level out I have no problem with what people in prison endure. They are the ones that made the choices to get them there. They should not be aloud choices in any aspect as they have proven that they can not handle making correct choices. Knowing full well that if they are to get caught they would end up in jail/prison. I am glad they took smoking out of prison as that is a luxury they do not deserve. Things like T.V., computer/ Internet, and weight rooms have no place in a prison. I am very old fashioned and I believe that Rape, murder, intent to murder and things of those natures should be punishable by death, not life with pleasures and no responsibilities, but you are guilty go out back and be shot kind of thing.
Why is it shocking that I compare grounding to prison? I have 5 children, 8yrs, 9yrs,10yrs,11yrs and 12yrs. They are children so they still have their days but they are pretty well behaved children. Now when they make the choice to go against the rules or to do something they have been taught to know is wrong they are grounded. Depending on the level of what they did of corse. But grounded means no T.V., video games, no friends houses or friends over, no phone and these are just kids, when they make the choice to do wrong these are the punishments. So why should adults that know better and do worse and actual crimes get to have these things????
Now remember this is all just my opinion and I do not wish to make everyone think the way I do. Just as I do not mind if religious people talk about what they believe as long as they don't try pushing their beliefs on others.

Just because you don't believe in Him doesn't mean He didn't create you or that He doesn't believe in you and love you very much. I'm not forcing anything on you. If I were, I'd probably be breaking down your door with a gun, like some kind of terrorist. There's a big difference. Many people believe in tolerance unless it has to do with Christianity, which (if you look at the Bible) believes that there is only ONE way to know God and get to heaven; this is not to be taken lightly or as some form of elitism as well; God, through His unending mercy has saved me through Jesus Christ, and anyone else who believes can be saved as well. Just because we believe that doesn't mean we are forcing it on anyone though. Also, if you're secure in your atheism, it really shouldn't bother you if someone says you were made by God. Why not just ignore it? I certainly ignore others' beliefs as false and won't argue (unless one wishes to pleasantly discuss the topic) about my sweet Savior who is so full of grace and mercy for me and others who pursue Him. Now if I was spouting off that you were going to hell, you would have the right to be a bit offended, but I have never, and would never assume or condemn anyone; it's God's place to judge and not mine. I am glad to have found a place here to talk chickens and get to know you all...and now that I have spilled my beliefs, I think I'll head out to make lunch for my kidlets and spend some time in God's creation. Blessings to everyone today.
