So I am planning to go to the auction tomorrow. I have on very good authority that a certain dish mat thief will be extremely close to the Enumclaw Auction barn in the morning.

So for those of you that would like to meet up with a real live Chicken Rustler tomorrow, just plan on coming out to the auction by about 11am.

For those of you that need to bring some chickens to sell, you will need to have them there between about 8:30am and 10:30am. What ever you bring the chicken in will be sold with the chicken. It is best to have the chicken in a box. Liquor boxes are a very sturdy boxes, that work well at the auction. They do stack boxes 3 to 5 high.

I am hoping to get to the auction by about 9am. There is a cafe at the auction barn, but I know of another restaurant that serves up breakfasts that one order will feed 2 or 3 people. The restaurant isn't very far, and is locate in downtown Enumclaw. We can also consider ordering to go, and dropping by my house here in town to eat if anyone wants to. I have both coffee and tea.

Rain: I am going to need to pick you up tomorrow? and where at?

So come if you want to meet up with "The ChickenRustler" and his lovely DW.

I really wish I could come tomorrow, totally bummed I can't! I pick up my produce at 8am and then my son has a football game at 10am. Grr

Well, it only took me one evening testing coop lighting at dusk to discover that 2 of my 3 chickens really are dumb enough to get locked out of the coop if there is a coop light on. Drama and Rhodie seemed to think it was light in the coop - surely they should be under the coop (in the dark) eating. The automatic pop-door closed. Even with it's 2nd "just in case" open/close sequence, those two weren't smart enough to get back up into the coop.

Bummer! It looks like I am going to have to drag my hiney out of bed early in the morning to turn the coop light on. Getting wired lighting, on a timer, is quickly becoming a priority.

I have mine set up and it's pretty easy with a timer! I got this timer on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Intermatic-P1...&qid=1347679898&sr=8-1&keywords=outdoor+timer

I set it (for now) to come on at 5am and go off at 9am. I think only in the dead of winter will I have to set it for 4am? I only plan morning lighting so that same thing doesn't happen Renee. I guess maybe it might even need to be 3am though, to get a full 14 hours of light?! eesh. Poor girls will have an early wakeup!

What's everyone else's timers set for in the dead of WA winters?

When does the auction start? I promised my kids I'd take them to the Auburn library grand opening at 9:30. I wonder if we'd have time to get to the auction long enough to at least meet you guys. We were planning on trying to get to the music store in Enumclaw tomorrow, anyway. We could kill 2 birds with one stone.

BTW... I am SO HAPPY we're going to have a library again!

It seems like the remodel took forever!

Rain would this route work for you? http://www.soundtransit.org/Trip-Planner.xml

Well I just checked the link and all it does is gets you to the trip planner. So I put in the Northgate Mall, and ended at the Auburn Adventist Academy. The trip starts at about 7:30 am, and gets you to the Academy at about 10am. I know that we can get you the rest of the way from there.

Yes! Any green potato growing above ground, or even green spots on below-ground potatoes will be poisonous. If it is a below ground potato with a green spot, it is safe to cut off the green spot and eat the rest. But don't eat the green part you cut off.

I won't compost potato or tomato plants. I don't take any chance of there being a possibility of blight on any of the leaves. I also will not compost the soil - I'll dig that into an ornamental bed where I know I won't be planting potatoes or tomatoes in the future.
