Today was awesome!!!

Had so much fun with everyone at the auction! Itsren's 3 little ones were so awesome! The poor kiddos were so bored listening to us grown ups blab on and on! They made the most beautiful napkin oragami stuff for me!!! SOOO cool!!!

JB,Rainwolf,Mama Wolf --- as always it was a pleasure seeing you all again!

Sadie Sue---- Way too short of a visit!! I'm sure we had at least 5 more hours of talking to do!!!

Justahannah---- It was so great meeting you! Thank you for taking the time to come up! I hope we get to meet again and have a chance to visit more!

It was such a great day and is always such a great breath of fresh air to be able to chat with folks who understand the mentally crazy poultry peeps & quackers!!

Yep. Still sorry I had to miss a good time this morning. And yes, T-Hi, I'm sure we did have about 5 more hours of talking to do - we are lonnngggg overdue. When is that next show? I'm going to have to miss the one in OR, but isn't Monroe or Chehalis coming up? Cloverleaf posted the information about Chehalis in November I know. I'm going to have to look back for that. What about Monroe? Are we going to have another pot luck and BYC meet? I love those!

Uh oh!!! I think CR is almost home now!!!! I better be on my best behavior!!! I have went all this time without ever letting him know where I live and now my plan is all ruined!!!

Have you checked your house to make sure you still have all your ducks? With CR around, I'd be a little worried about the feathered friends.

Oh my! I just had my first REAL scare with thinking I'd lost a bird this evening! I just went out to shut the run and when I did a head count in the coop there were only 10 birds. Gulp. I have 11. It took me a good while to figure out who was missing and it was my dear sweet favorite girl Ethel. I went to the run...no bird. Called and called her, heard a rustling in the bushes/tree nearby so I ran in the house to grab a bright flashlight. Came back out and searched high and low in the bush and around the run and what did I find? Ethel on the roost in the run. I think she ran in there in the *almost* dark when I went to get a flashlight and got disoriented and couldn't make it to the coop. I grabbed her so tight and snuggled her and could tell she'd been running. I just wonder why she wasn't with her flock! Glad they're all safe and sound in the coop now, whew!!!!

Glad you found her. And glad I'm not the only one crazy enough to hug a bird super tight this evening. Rhodie didn't even give one little squawk about being held so tight tonight as I stood there crying after we found her.

Maybe I missed an answer so excuse me for asking again, but I'm wondering when everyone sets their coop light timers for in the winter?

I'm just counting back 14 hours from dusk. Dusk is changing a little bit each day. Or, if I get up late and turn it on late, like this morning, I add time to the end. Fortunately everyone went up to the coop this evening and stayed there before the pop door closed on them.

Tonight I discovered a kid's light saber is a great light button pusher. No more chicken butt in the face as I struggle to reach over them to get to the light.

The force is finally with me!

Well we made it home safe. What a long day!!! BUT SO FUN !!!! We had such a good time. A very short visit with SS. A little more time with JB. A short first meeting of Rainwolf and Momma wolf and Justahannah. A very nice long visit with itsren and her 3 very well mannered and polite little people. And an AWESOME extended visit with T HI. Also a huge thank you to T Hi for being so kind as to us around. I have to admit that I normally get very nervous with most other peoples driving. I felt so relaxed riding with Toni. I had NO ANXIETIES at all. Thanks

Oh and yes lest we forget all who were there also got to visit with my PURE BRED MUTT Quincy.

Will anyone who's put chicks under a broody hen, or one that's already an early mama, please advise this person? I tried, but her last question I don't know how to answer.
