She was so pretty! I miss her.

Yes she was pretty. I'm sorry Jess. It's just never easy.

Enumclaw Music Shop update...

The music shop was very nice about the mistake of returning my clarinets to me without having completed all the repairs on them. I was happy that the guy I had initially given them to was there when I dropped them off again. As soon as he opened the cases, he recognized right away what had not been completed. He looked surprised and was very apologetic. They have taken them back and will finish the repair. They refunded the $10 over-charge. And, they gave us a loaner clarinet, free of charge. Thank goodness!!!! And, thank you to CR who suggested that we request a loaner.

And, yes, they do outsource the repair. But they will make good on the repair not being done the first time and will make sure it gets done this time.

Want to know what happens when companies make things right? They make happy customers who become repeat customers. We walked out of the music shop owning a refurbished electric guitar, an refurbished amplifier, a guitar stand, a guitar case and books for our youngest son, who has trouble using his fingers, to learn to play. Our little guy absolutely loves guitars. We're hoping that teaching him to press down on the strings will help him develop coordination and strength in his fingers.

This is also a reflection of what happens when one starts with a good approach. See in my few years I have learned that the person who starts with the angry approach tends to not get dealt with as well. I am a firm believer in start calm and quiet show / tell what the problem is and what you want done to solve the problem. Then if no results. Request to speak the some one (higher) in management (remember ladders were built to be climbed and have no fear of heights). If still not getting good results and there are other customers around I may have been known to elevate my voice a bit so others can hear. Typically the business doesn't want others to hear and will most times start working very quick to silence you.
There are 3 kinds of people. Those who set and watch things happen. Those who make things happen. And those who set and wonder what just happened???
I have been known to cause things to happen (like the Navy changing flight path over my house) that others have said couldn't be done!

The other day I believe Farmin Momma was relating her dream about opening a door to fresh eggs right off of her kitchen. Since a couple of my LF girls are molting, a couple are broody, one are two just haven't given me a good reason for not laying, then I'm only getting about 3 or 4 eggs from the big coop daily. I need to have at least a dozen or two eggs for *customers on hand each week, so that doesn't leave much for DH and I.
However, I have that tiny Serama who's laying a few times a week and my newest adult Catdance Silkie laying at least every other day here in the computer room. So I'm using their tiny eggs for scrambling or baking. Couldn't be any fresher - just a few steps from my kitchen! What a strange life I'm living these days...

*Besides my parents and one or two special friends who require eggs from our back yard, I am obligated to deliver at least one dozen eggs to a woman a few miles away from here. Last March when my niece's show choir was having their fundraiser auction, I donated a chicken themed basket filled with chicken embroidered dishtowels, kitchen tools and a promised backyard fresh dozen eggs delivered each month for a year. The woman who was the winning bidder is thrilled when I show up each month with her pretty multi-colored eggs! She's already asked if I'll be donating the same item again this year because she wants to win it again.

Yay, we finally made it to our destination and have internet again! and I'm more than 1000 posts behind LOL On a sad note, I just got a message from our chicken sitter saying that one of our girls died this morning. Totally mysterious, she became lethergic yesterday and didn't go to roost last night. The sitter brought her in and tried to keep her hydrated but to no avail.

The other four seem perfectly normal at this point but he will be keeping a close eye on them til we get home again

Glad to hear you made it (I assume safely) to where ever and sorry to hear of your loss.
