Yesterday I gave the chickens an egg. They were wandering around the yard and I was carrying the last egg of the day around. Laya was curious so I just set it down. This what we do with fresh blackberries where i am from. We make blackberry cobbler than put ice cream on top while still warm.

I wonder if your new EE is already broody? If she's sitting on eggs but not laying?

How many bug treats is too many for chicks? These 2 week olds are hilarious. They go nuts for tiny roaches and mealworms. They now come running when I put my hand in the brooder! I have grit in a shallow cup and scattered some over their feed. There are a lot of little poos all over so they are not pasting up. They are active, alert, and constantly pecking at the shavings looking for more worms, lol. I am having a lot of fun with them, but I don't want to compromise their health.

If my Wife and I had health insurance being both self employed we could own two houses just what we'd pay monthly.
