So here's the sweet little fun experiments we're doing this week. We're studying seeds and how things grow. We have 15 library books and a Magic School Bus video this week! The kids are having a blast. We planted beans in egg shells (which we'll dig up a different one every day to check its' progress, so it'll be a 12-13 day experiment), and we're sprouting a bean in the glass so we can see it happen. The kids have already checked it like 10 times since we put this all together...waiting is the hard part!

Tomorrow we'll make "paint" from the dye inside flower petals.

A really fun thing we did as kids, was get a bunch of fresh picked White flowers, such as daisies, or Carnations.and put in a glass of water with Food Coloring in it, such as Blue.
Soon the flowers suck up the dyed water & turn blue !
Fascinated the kids and shows them how flowers & plants draw up water.

I'd love to get in on a seed swap, too. I have marigold seeds coming out my ears. I also have a bunch of nasturtium seeds... I just need to find them. I don't remember where I set them after I gathered them. I still need to gather seed from my Gaillardia. Oh... if anyone wants Lamb's Ear, let me know now so I can pot them up. I'm going to attempt to get rid of them again - but, I don't think there is such a thing as getting rid of Lamb's Ear once you have it started.

I have about 5 potted/rooted/2 year old Wallflower shrubs...they are purple and bloom non stop from spring to late fall, BEES LOVE THEM.

This is the mother plant, and looks a bit scruffy after winter.
Needs to be put in the ground as she is a bit rootbound.
As soon as the house is done, she will be planted there.

The tapes I had (about 1977!) wore out and I was never able to get replacements. They were recorded by the nurses at the pain clinic. But ther are books with CDs available at book stores. They're usually done by hypnotherapists since hypnosis is just another form of relaxation therapy. Stress Management is often the subject they use.

I just got a CD called "Crystal Bowls Chakra Chants"
which has many very relaxing crystal bowl sounds, which are supposed to both relax & realign your chakras and thus help with stress & pain...very nice.

Maybe it's a Brahma thing? Drama's not quite this goofy looking when she runs, but she sure does have her own unique run. We always laugh at her when she's running.

Funniest Chicken running is a LF Cochin...the big fluffy birds run with toes pointed in big swooping leaps, like big fat ballerinas.

Einstein is on his way home....very slowly.
He has the little trailer with 4 BIG double roll-away cabinets in it, and all the drawers removed & laid all over the van's floor.
Hopefully the itty bitty tires on the trailer can handle the weight.

Hopefully.

Then we'll just have 4 more roll-aways, a heavy duty cherry picker and assorted engine stands to go.............
