Will it work with an outdoor outlet that has attached outlet covers? It looks wide - will it rotate to fit vertically?
So I went out to the barn to look at my thermo cube to see if it would work outside. It will NOT fit vertically. There was a Hawk inside my run and it had one of my babies. When it saw me it dropped the baby and flew up into a tree. It was pretty small. lot smaller then my hens. Where was my rooster????? UNDER the barn. He's out of here next week!!!! the baby was dead. so I have lost two babies in a week. I can't cover my run it is something like 70 ft. X 100 ft

Quote: Yeah, you need a tougher rooster! One that feels like he rules the roost! Not one that is scared of his own shadow. Sorry about losing another one.

Yeah I was just hoping there was something that might work like my ice cream scoop. There's a chemical inside it, and the scoop is made of nickel I think??? so it melts through ice cream immediately, no muscle needed. I was hoping there was something I could drop in the waterer that would regulate the temp like that.

Tried calling Audrey.....but no answer.
There is 2 Long Boxes at the company, sitting out in their front parking lot, first come, first serve...FREE.
rare to have 2 be there at the same time, and they want them GONE so will not reserve.
I also have a long box here, cut in half.
So a person could get the 2 at the company, and this one here, so that would be 3, 20 feet long (mine is cut in 2-10 foot sections, so a total of 60 feet of planter box.
You'll need a trailer, a sawzall & batteries, and straps to tie them down.
We cut them in half, and get one right side up on the trailer, and the other half inside (upside down) in the first section.

HURRY. The boxes can be gone today, or tomorrow.
You may be able to call them, and make sure boxes are there & talk them into holding them & ask them to spray paint SAVED on them, explain you are on your way from far away to get them & want to make sure they'll be there.
While you do that, if you want the box I have, PM me so I can give directions here.
Hi Robin! Sorry I missed your call, busy morning

Shoot! I am a little too far away to be able to pick them up today, I possibly won't be able to until next weekend. If anybody else can get out there sooner, I can wait until next time 'round

Quote: Oh no, Ron I am sorry. I have been dealing with hawks to. Or at least I was assumeing it was a hawk because only my chicks were dissapering untill I was down to 3. Then this morning my SIL and I just got back from droping off my kids at their bus stop and were just sitting in the warm car for a min (which we park right next to the coop facing out where the chickens are) and SWOOSH, my chickens were running around. I saw the hawk fly away and did not seem like it had anything, but Momma Ebony was running screaming and flying after the hawk. I went out to see if there was a dead chick out there and found her hiding in the blackberry bushes safe and sound! I hope no more of your chicks are taken.

JennS!!! YEAH on the new pips and more cracks in your Orp egg! Yes, the lone chick can stay in bit more than 48 hrs. I don't like to move them to the brooder by themselves, I always try and wait until they at least have one friend to move with! So hang in there and hopefully he will have friends soon!!!!!!
