Has anyone tried a watering system like this (hanging bucket with nipples on bottom)? http://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Chicke...49406630&sr=8-9&keywords=poultry+water+nipple

The price seems pretty reasonable, although I know it'd be cheaper to make one myself. However time seems to be the thing I am shortest on nowadays! I like the idea of just putting a submersible heater in it during the winter. Looks easy to clean and refill.

If you want to order the nipples from QC supply, I will make as many as you want! It takes about 3 minutes! Or I can come over and show you.I can pick up the bucket for you too! Just make sure you get the push in nipples. They have the black washer you put in first then push in the nipple. I will help or just do them for you if you want. Let me know.
I got buckets from HD for about $3-$4 each and 9 nipples from QC Supply for about $9 plus shipping. So that puts each one at around $7-$8 each I think.

I know folks were talking about doing a combined order for egg cartons. I have a code for free shipping, so PM me if you are coordinating the order.

I'm so happy tonight! Our cat Sasuke went missing when we did our major backyard renovations...he was the only one I couldn't track down and put inside while we were working, and I hoped that it was just a matter of all the noise and change freaking him out and he'd come home after the dust settled. He's fixed and usually isn't gone more than a couple of hours at a time, just long enough to bring me dead vermin presents.. After a couple days, I asked the neighbors (the whole block knows our cats, they're the best ratters around), posters went up, craigslist ads posted, talked to the Humane Society (he's microchipped, so they assured me everyone gets scanned when they come in and we'd get a call if he turned up there), but no leads, no bodies in the road, nothing. It's been two weeks to the day since he took off, and now he's home! I was sitting here browsing and heard a little meow at the window, and he jumped in like it was no big deal. He's definitely lost some weight, but no signs of injury or illness...just a hungry kitty glad to be getting some love. Life is so good right now.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!! So happy he's alright! A friend lost his cat for 3wks and found out that he got stuck in a neighbors crawl space. He was in poor shape but it didn't help that he was very overweight to start with and ended up with hepaticlipidosis (fatty liver) from lack of food. I didn't think he'd make it but he did...and back to being fat!
