He's a brave one that's for sure, I think they over act a bit to make the show exciting, but, doing that work on a daily basis wouldn't be boring! Your too funny!

Ahh good another convert!! LOL!! I mean really, a lot of the acting and stuff was cheesy, but, it's good clean fun, and you don't have to worry about cussin, and the like. Although, I have watched a few older shows, and I know they wouldn't fly now, cause, they talk about whipping their kids, ect, all that stuff that's been censored or deemed in appropriate for tv!

Hi all!

I have not visited in a while, and now I'm 200 posts behind.

I have been busy studying for my Enrolled Agent Tax exams with the IRS, and this morning I passed the second test (I did the first one 13 days ago) - one to go!

I was feeling all happy about passing the exam (in Puyallup at 7:30 am), came home and saw a horrific scene in my backyard that took away any good feeling I had.

The kids were playing video games and had let the chickens out, but ignored the dogs who were stil in their crates. I yelled at the kids, followed the dogs out to check on all the waterers and feeders and I saw Luna, the white sussex lying in the yard near the coop where she likes to hang out, neck twisted and rolled partway under her, and much of her neck and shoulders and part of a wing eaten away with bones sticking out, and she was still breathing!!! I yelled for my husband who came out and finished her off. Then I yelled at my kids for letting the chickens out without their guard dogs. I'm thinking it was a raccoon. A few weeks ago I found another hen in the same area, injured in the same spot. That injury was minor in comparison. I think I had scared off whatever the predator was there when the attack started, but the hen must have died of a hear attack. Poor Luna was still alive and it is awful to think of what the poor girl must have endured. She was such a sweet hen. I still have 10 roosters, but my supply of hens is going down.

Hi Mo!!

That's terrible!!! Poor baby!! Darn those video games!!

Love it! We have not had TV since 2004. The shows you mention are the ones I miss the most.

Wow! good job on the test's by the way and good luck on your next one, and yea, they are pretty cool to watch, especially the ones in like 68 or so, when I was....like 5!!

Hi. For those two that I read that had raccoon trouble. I wanted to say I am very sorry to hear of the raccoon attack (hope your special hen survives - sending good thoughts) and also sorry for the loss of your dear Luna. It strikes close to home for me as I also have recently lost a hen from a raccoon. It was bizarre! Afternoon, sunny day, hens in a fenced yard against our house to do a little foraging for a few hours. I was in the house for only 20-30 minutes and on my way back out to check on things. When through the window I saw a raccoon in the yard with one of my hens trying to pull its dead headless body over the fence. I was so angry I ran through the house yelling at my DH about it. When we got outdoors the raccoon just starred us down. Unafraid! We live in the country but as the population grows and people feed them I think they get bolder. DH ran at it yelling so when he was 10 feet away it finally backed off so he could retrieve the dead chicken, poor Gemini. But then it kept coming back over and over again. I have been nursing my last hen (she was in shock even crowing like a cockerel) Betsy Barr Rock wasn't injured but is now all alone which is not so good. DH put a large mirror in her tractor run which helps her somewhat. She loves her reflection so spends a lot of time in front of it. Anyway, I feel your pain.

sorry to hear about your coon trouble too!! That's sad!

Just thought I should check in with the group. I managed to have a very bad week. I ran out of pain meds very early in the week, and I thought that I would have a refill waiting for me by the middle of the week. Well when I went to pick up the meds at the pharmacy there were no pain meds. I knew that the doc wanted me to see a specialist to manage the pain, but the appointment isn't until 7.5 months from now. I didn't realize that I was supposed to go without pain meds, or treatment for a progressive condition for that long.

By Thursday I knew I wasn't going to be able to keep the pain under control, so I went back to the clinic here in town. I was seen by one of the other doctors, and he refilled one of the pain meds for this month. I hate letting the pain get out of control, because it's so hard to get it back to a manageable level again.

I am going to try and get an appointment with a different provider, that will hopefully be able to see me sooner than next May.

So while I was stuck in the chair not able to move much, one of the rabbits died.

She was my favorite of course. I don't think she was healthy when I got her, so I have a feeling that my neglect of a day and half was more than she could handle. I have had to realize that without being able to count on pain control, that I just can't manage as much as I wanted to manage. I took all the rest of the rabbits back to the auction this morning.

I also got a call yesterday that the puppy that I thought I had sold 2 weeks ago was at risk of being sold again. So I had to drive nearly to Lake Forrest Park for the third time in 2 weeks and refund the lady the 450.00 that she had already paid me. I now have 6 dogs again. I will say that dear little Tag is awfully happy to be home tonight.

I am now hoping that with DH back home for the next week, that I can get things back together better. It should help that there isn't as much to take care of. DH is going to be home this coming week, and he is planning on laying the new flooring in the kitchen. I just hope that I can keep up with him at least a little bit.

Well that was the highs and lows of my week.

Hi JB!!!
I'm so sorry your having problems with keeping the pain level down, I know how that goes! The relativley good news is I have a VA apt with the Ortho dr Nov 5th so we'll see what they say, I'm gonna get a second opinion from a more local Dr after this one tho, sorry not trusting the VA too much right now considering my old GP can't even get back to me in a timely manner to help me get the Ortho apt!

That's too bad you lost your rabbit, and had to take the pup back! What's wrong with people?? Do they not get that puppies are work, and take responsibility?

At least your husband will be home to help you and take care of things!!
Take care my friend!!
