So hard to predict chickens. As Speckled Hen says: "They aren't vending machines"
I wouldn't worry that 2 days off now means hey won't lay till spring. I have found most of my brown layers barely, if at all, slow down the first winter. Slow down the second year and are pretty much not laying during the winter the third year, even with lights; but they do pick back up quickly.
Every green layer (EE) has been a very erratic layer for me, often taking long breaks all times of the year. But others have posted that the are egg laying machines.
I also have had spring hatched chicks start laying the second and third week of December, at 33 and 35 weeks.

Ok, I'm gonna hope for this. All of my 5 are brown layers. Thanks!
