I went ahead and set up a fish tank brooder, just in case. It's warming up with a gooseneck lamp and regular light bulb. If they pip, we'll start getting a real heat lamp set up, because it looks like the 60 watt bulb (max for that lamp) is only warming the 10 gallon fish tank up to 90. I didn't get their bigger brooder finished - I began to lose heart slowly after I went into lockdown and all the movement from the eggs quit. I started getting this sick feeling that I messed them up and couldn't stay motivated to work on it.

Dawn, you may be right about the paper towels soaking up the extra moisture. Now that I have one incubator with 1 paper towel and another incubator with 9 paper towels - after running all night, the amount of moisture that has accumulated inside both incubators appears to about the same. Granted, the bottom 2 paper towels were absolutely soaked, but the other ones were dry. It was the moisture that was accumulating around the lower edge and inside the turner stack area that was becoming very worrisome.

Dawn - you had a Brinsea Mini - right? After the day moves to "0" does it keep running? Ours will turn to "0" at about 7:30 p.m. this evening. I'll be in Oregon, and my husband hasn't even seen how the programing on those things work. I don't know how quickly he would be able to get it running again if it shuts off while I'm gone.

I was going to go to Salem. Sunday I started not feeling well. Got worse on Monday and Tuesday. I got a little better on Wednesday, but no real improvement. I went to the Dr today. Diverticulitis - hopefully antibiotics will clear it up and I can avoid surgery.

He said if necessary the surgery is minor - I explained to him that my definition of minor surgery is .... Surgery on SOMEONE ELSE !

I hope the antibiotics will clear it up for you. You'll may need to change your diet a bit to get it under control. Both my husband and I have diverticulosis (same problem, minus the infection). I was told to be careful eating popcorn or nuts. I'm allergic to nuts, so that's not a problem for me. But, I have to make sure I chew popcorn up really well.

To late for you to go to Grand Opening but at least you'll know new location.
With additional space thi9s place should be really good down the road.

Second Use Building Materials is holding its grand opening at its new location in SoDo today.
The building materials salvage company recently made the move from South Park to 3223 6th Avenue South in SoDo – a move which owners say offers the small business double the space and a chance to continue to grow and thrive.
“We’ve been lucky enough to weather the recession relatively well,” said co-owner Patrick Burningham. “While fewer people in the last several years were doing remodels, the people who were more serious about saving money.”
The company accepts customer donations and removes unwanted home goods in order to keep the materials out of the landfill.
According to owners, each year, Second Use salvages more than 1,000 tons of reusable materials for customers to buy at discounted prices.
Some of the items the business sells includes: doors, windows, cabinets, sinks, tubs, flooring, and appliances.
The grand opening celebration runs until 3:00p.m., and features live music, snacks and a sale.

I'm loving the rain! I could just hear the woods heave a big sigh of pleasure. Everything feels so much fresher and cleaner. I'm ready for a nice, damp fall to set in!
