My name is Rachael, and not to long ago I had one very beautiful rooster named Dante. My mom had sprayed for wasps and he ate some of the dead wasps and was poisoned. He got sick and his legs began to lock, a few days later he was paralized from what i could tell the waist down. Later that week, we left to go on vacation and I was unable to be with him he died. It was probably the most heart breaking thing I've had to deal with with our chickens. It's come up again now at the county fair, some people are really missing him and alot of those emotions are coming back. I've been wondering if there was something I could have done, or should have done. I had been praying he just needed it out of his system. If this ever happened again somehow...Is there a way to treat it? If not...What would be the most humane way to put a bird down? I love my birds so much, and I never want to see any of them suffer like that again.
