I got stung on Sunday (my arm). Was trimming bushes and got into a nest. Two days later, it is still itching (like crazy) and is still red and swelling. Is it too late to do anything? As soon as I was stung, I applied benzocaine (Sting Eze) and I am using Cortaid for the itching. I wonder how much longer to expect discomfort?? Ugh!!!

You can also make a paste with water and baking soda, and apply it to the site of the sting.

ETA: Ooh! I just noticed that my status changed! I'm Chillin'! LOL

no it isn't too late, but i would encourage you to see a doctor if you are still itching. it may be a sign that you have an allergy or sensitivity.

the first exposure to something we are sensitized, the second we react.

I have delayed reactions to it.. first, it swells a little, then gets hot, and looks like a sunburn... then for the next two days, it itches, and swells huge.. My joints also hurt when I get stung.. I am lucky though, both times I have been stung, its been on my arm. No fun..

I got stung by a red wasp on my neck and my whole upper right side of my body hurt down into my arm. I took Tylenol PM for the pain cause it has benadryl in it. It hurt for 3 days.

Cut an onion in half & hold it on the bite area for a couple of minutes, maybe 10-15. Works better if done right away but should still help
