Wasps in the Coop?

Btw, listerine type mouthwash is also absolutely the BEST treatment for flea dermatis and "hot spots" on dogs....listerine will dry up a hot spot overnight, faster and better than any of the vet stuff for hot spots. For an active hot spot, use full strength, dap on. For fleas and flea dermatitis, mix 1/2 with water in a spray bottle, apply several times a day, kills and repels fleas, treats the flea dematitis, and dogs don't like the taste so it discouraged chewing at their skin.
Also listerine/water spray excellent for gnats, I've seen gnats get so bad, all over chicken's heads, they can KILL chickens. Just avoid listerine in EYES!
Again, don't have to buy the brand name, the cheap drug store generic brand works as well. But must be the old fashioned amber colored 'mediciney' kind, not minty or anything like that.

The "old way" I remember people dealing with them when I was a kid, don't think that had cans of wasp spray back them...wait till dark, and they are all on the nest...then wrap a bit of rag around a rake or broom stick, pour a little lighter fluid on it, light it, and sitck it right in there, coming from below the nest so as to have the flames licking up to get them before they could fly. Then run like heck in case any escaped.

Hahaha. A few years ago, a friend told me that WD-40 would drop wasps instantly. I had a huge nest of them in the shed, so I poured some WD-40 from a gallon can into a plastic spray bottle and went at them. Bad idea. It just ticked them off. I ended up wielding the spray bottle like a club to fend them off as I hastily retreated.

I told my friend about it and he said "Oh, I meant WD-40 in a spray can. I guess the propellant is what does it. That would have been helpful to know beforehand.

I ended up taping a couple of spray foggers to a 1x2, opened the door a crack and shoved them in using the stick.

Quote: A can just delivers more volume, more quickly.
The oil immobilizes and suffocates them.

Lots of other aerosols will work too, especially those that spray a fairly strong stream.rather than a fine mist, although spray paint does a good job too, but it's messy
