Wasted crumble

I fluctuate between fermented feed and dry feed. With the dry feed, the unedible power, I mix with their water till it’s an oatmeal consistency. Two in one, their water has acv and nothing goes to waste.

I feed a crumble too, and the yellow plastic feeders from Premier1supplies.com have really helped eliminate wasted feed from billing out. I haven't built the pipe feeders, because I like the Premier feeders just fine. IMG_0427 (1).JPG I also hang them up in the coop. This one holds about eleven pounds of feed, and there's also a three pound size for chicks.

Well, sad to say, we had to cull the blind pullet Lucky. I had been putting our egyption fayoumi cockerel in the cage with her at night, he would bed down just on the other side of the wire every night. Anyway, I opened the cage door to let him out this morning, as I usually do, and turned to fill her water and food bowls and she got out--immediately was pecked viciously by my bully hen Rosie. Here I am, blocking the cage door and she got past me anyway. Poor thing, couldn't see where the attack was coming from. I got to her pretty fast but she was so bloody that I just couldn't see letting her heal once again. I had questioned whether to cull or not when she was first attacked by the hawk and chose not to, now I wish I had at that time. I just feel so bad for her and now my little egyptian is lonely and has been sitting tail down all day. At least my grandkids who helped feed her with a medicine dropper weren't here to see it.
