hello! I got some adorable baby chicks a few days ago and now that are comfortable and fermiller with their surroundings. Today they chicks are being silly. They are wasting all the chicken food! I filled it up not even an hour ago and I can already see the bottom. Should I refill it constantly or let them forage for what they spilled? There is food on the ground next to their feeder and in thick layers too. Is it enough? Will they eat it? Please help!!

You may find that you can go further between food receptacle fill-ups by using a feed receptacle that doesn't allow your peeps enough room to stand in the middle of their food receptacle and scratch and scatter their food everywhere.

If you do nothing your chicks excreta will dampen the spilled feed enough to start it molding and fermenting. Then when they finally eat the moldy fermented feed it will kill your chicks. Good luck.

Take the tray out and let them scratch. It'll give them a workout and get them moving and I would change the bedding in the morning and put the top on the tray
