We have a hanging feeder for a flock of mostly 2 1/2 yo EEers. No matter what height it is - someone somehow scatters feed all over the ground. The feeder is from ag store, normal round, galvanized one with tray. What set-up works best to keep from wasting feed? I'm going broke!

make em eat the scattered feed, dont give them more till thats cleaned up

I quit using ours and threw out a couple of old jelly-roll sheet pans. I toss food in there, since they like to kick it and beak it all on the ground...and they don't get more until they pick up after themselves!!!

I second that. If you make them eat what they scatter before filling the feeder again, there will be way less wasted.

I cut a 5 gallon plastic bucket off 3" tall and use it. They get in it and scratch all they want but the feed stays in the bucket.
