Watch out for the red poo alarm!

This morning I go out to the coop and see some BLOOD in the poop. Upon closer inspection, I thought that it is kind of pink. So I have been sitting here for a while wondering what it could mean and now I remember that we ate beets for supper last night. The chickens got the greens. Ah ha ha!

phew i sometimes get worried when i see red in the droppings and i remember they get a lot of tomatoes lol.

Maybe someone else can comment.... I am not sure about tomatoes. They don't really have much pigment. But beets have so much that it turns humans waste red also.

Maybe it is something else they are eating? Anyone?

Did they get any of the beets? You scared me there!

You know my standard reply - because it's such a good standard with which to start: probiotics. But I'm betting on the beets.

Boy that sounds good right now, some good beets. Shame on you - now I'm hungry!
