Watched an egg being laid

I went out to put the girls back in the run/coop and one of the girls looked like she was trying to go to the bathroom but she looked like she was straining...like she couldn't go, I thought no she can't be trying to lay an egg! Sure enough out pops a soft shelled egg! Pretty cool but she has been laying regular eggs (in the nesting box) so I thought this was weird...took it in and scrambled it for them. They loved it!!

I got to watch one of my girls lay an egg.... It was both strange and cool.

Cool, huh? I love watching, although it does bring back labor memories. (I hope it's not that bad for the hen)

I watch mine sometimes too to figure out who is laying. I have some fairly new layers.

I got one today still soft and warm with my banty still in the box.

I have yet to catch mine in the act. I can be in the coop, walk out, come right back in and there is an egg. None of my girls make a sound while laying.
