Water additive for mites

Hello! My name is Rachel. My father asked me to get on the internet and find something he could add to his chicken's water that would help with mites.... well I'm not finding any real solid answers. Would you guys be willing to share any additives to water or food that would help with this mite problem??!!

Hi there!

There is not a water additive that will solve your mite problem.

I HIGHLY recommend getting some Permethrin spray and spraying ALL of your birds AND coop at least once a week for no less than three weeks.

Wash all sheets, towels, pillowcases and towels in hot water at least 130 F (54.4 C) to destroy dust mites and eliminate allergens. If bedding can not be washed hot, put the products in the dryer at a temperature above 130 F (54.4 C) for at least 15 minutes to kill the mites.
