water aerators for the waterer in the winter to keep it unfrozen?

Has anyone used this method? Someone mentioned it to me and I am curious as to see if it works. I am in NH where it gets pretty cold. Thanks!

I think it depends on what pretty cold means to you. I'm familiar with how aeration keeps a pond open when the temps are just below freezing for an hour or two, but even those will fail once the temps stay for days at temps below 30 deg. F. I cannot imagine a strong enough aerator for a chicken waterer. Do you have a link to provide more information?
