Hello all, this is the first time I am using this site.
Can I use malt vinegar (which is the cheapest type I have found around shops) for my chicken? If so, to what dilution is recommended?
Also, I understand that whole grains are another cheaper way to feed chicken (mine are fully free range- 9 so far, including a cockerel). Can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy it in the midlands?
Currently I pay £7.50 for a 20kg bag of layers pellets and sort of similar price for mixed corn.

Many thanks

Welcome.
A couple things. Vinegar isn't necessary but if one chooses to use it, it must be raw apple cider vinegar. It doesn't have to be organic but must be raw or it has no health benefits.
If you use it, about a tablespoon per gallon is sufficient.
Free range with pristine pasture is a big benefit. Whole grains aren't a replacement for complete feed. They won't provide the protein, vitamins and minerals research has shown that chickens need.
Read the ingredient label on the feed and you'll see things that aren't in corn. Selenium, lysine, methionine, iron, vitamin D and K, etc..
