Water and food in the coop?

we keep food and water in coop all time. we use a hanging feeder, it seems to work the best.

I keep food in the run at all times for my chickens, their run is covered overtop in polycarbonate sheets to keep the wet out and let the light in. because the house is on a tarp on a pellet ( so they arnt sitting in the wet) I don't keep food inside ( also because their entire run is covered/ out of the wind so they can go out. the frame is on a brick base with the bricks around the bottem with the frame sitting on top. then there is a brick gap ( I should have taken pictures) so that they can get out and in the rest of the area there is filled with bark and dirt etc. the gap lets them out its about 6 inches high and a foot long, this ensures that they can get out to free range but the dog cannt get in. however for your chickens if they are young having food inside is a good idea, and a small water container. if it gets really cold then both are a must, but if its hot then both can be outside if they are old enough and are fully feathered
