Water belly emergency...please help!

I thought my duck was just getting fat then I picked her up and noticed right off the bat that she has a like squishy bulge like a water balloon under her belly. I read up on what it could be and learned it is water belly which can be caused by other underlying illnesses such as organ failure or heart disease or liver failure etc. Which is heartbreaking to learn. I remember when she was a young ducky her and her sister found this container of special kitty litter I had that was made with crushed Walnut and they were eating it. Shortly after that they both had seizure like episodes. Which only happened a couple times and that was 3 years ago. Anyways, I an extremely nervous and don't feel very confident in doing the draining procedure but I have no choice. It is already gotten bigger since yesterday I went and bought the needle 18 gauge but I have no idea where to insert the needle in order to drain it. Man I wish there was somebody else here to help with this. 🤢😢. I really could use some encouraging words, and some directions and instructions on where to put the needle and how deep to go and how much I should drain. If anyone has any experience with this I'd love to here from you and it is time sensitive which you already know I'm sure. Thank you so much and I will be standing by scared and nervous and worried for my baby. But I'm not going to do it until I know I'll be doing it right.
Update: So I bought a syringe and started to drain her belly. Only it wasn't clear yellowish fluid, it was a dark brownish red fluid. I tried 2 different locations to the lower right side of her abdomen. Which leads me to believe that what she has is blood pooled up in her belly. Does anyone know what and why she would have a belly full of blood filled fluid. A hematoma is the only thing that comes to mind. Needless to say I did not continue to drain it out until I have more information and whether or not I should still drain it. Please any help, information, or advice is welcome.

I'm sorry your duck has ascites I have n 8yr old Runner female with it I have never drained her I use dried greek oregano in their feed and Vit C in their water to treat she has lived 2 yrs since I noticed it with her. Still runs around with her flock and doesn't seem to be in any pain. I read this online is how they treat it in Broiler chickens since they are susceptible to it. We don't have any vet around that treat poultry and I just never was one to want to keep draining.
Please read my udate
