water bowl heaters. what do you use

I see that you have yours suspended. I wasn't sure if the plastic handle was strong enough to hold up a full waterer. I may try that with mine.

We used a heated dog bowl inside the coop last winter. I had wired an outlet in mounted overhead and the cord for the bowl has the wire guard around it so it worked fine. I will note I had a metal crisper drawer from an old refridgerator that we set the bowl on to keep it out of the bedding(and keep the bedding out of the bowl too!).

We also have the "Fortex" rubber hog pans that you can flip upside down and the ice falls out with a good kick. Between those two we have had good luck keeping water to the girls.
