Mollans
In the Brooder
I have a 3 and a half year old layer. She is a dark sussex.
I noticed her today in the coop looking a bit fluffed up.
Popped in a bit later and she is obviously not well. I picked her up and she had a crop full of water. Her breath does not smell which is why I don't think it is sour crop.
She has a slightly firm abdomen and a little white poo on her tail feathers. She is not interested in eating, not even her scrambled egg. I have checked that there is no egg stuck with an internal exam. Nothing there.
We previously had a hen with a watery crop but not smell who died when I picked her up and I can only guess I squished the crop. This hen allowed me to very carefully empty much of the liquid in her crop but I am flummoxed aa to what to do now.
Any help would be appreciated

I'm very sorry to hear that.
