I filled up the bator wells with water at lockdown, and the water evaporated already, and its day 20 today! The water never evaporated that quickly before. Should I open the bator and add more, or just leave it be?

I've heard my first cheep coming from one of the eggs this morning!

What kind of incubator do you have? If it has a air vent you can put a straw through and push water in using a syringe or infant tylanol dropper. Thats what I do for my Brinsea.

Make sure you use warm water. Refill it quick! Soem people use a straw if they don't want to open it, but I just have the water ready and do it really fast so you don't lose humidity.

I agree. Not coordinated enough for the straw thing. Maybe try adding a warm damp sponge or wash cloth as well to hold more water.

If you have room- yes! I use a rolled up washcloth. The chicks like to climb on it after hatch too.

Okay, I actually just used a watering can for my house plants, it has a really long skinny spout and I just opened the bator a crack and filled one resevoir. The temp didn't drop at all.

I have a jar of water in there as a heat sink, but the lid is on tight.

I'm still hearing cheeps!
