I hope someone can help- today is day 21 of our hatch- only 6 in a little incubator. Due to the high humidity we've had condensation on the inside of the incubator. These now seem to have formed puddles which our eggs are now sat in- do I leave it alone as opening it will lower temp and humidity? Or do I quickly open and dry out then place eggs back in- what's the best way ? :(

Your humidity level should be around 70%, give or take a few. If it has gotten a lot higher than this, you might briefly open the lid to let some of it out. Too high of humidity can drown the chicks. Do you have your vents wide open? You need to do this at lock down for maximum oxygen and it will help relieve some of this humidity.

Here is a link to the incubation section of the forums if you need to post a question...

Good luck with your hatch and enjoy BYC!

No vents! What we've read so far is that humidity needs to be high! But obviously not that high?! Am I ok to open it up to dry up the water?! Will it effect the chicks?! If there are any?!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you joined us, Happy Holidays! Good luck with your chicks!

Hello :frow Welcome To BYC and Happy Holidays! X3 I would open up the incubator and dry things up some. I would also get the eggs off the bottom so they are not sitting in puddles if you get more condensation. Your incubator does not have an adjustable vent?
