I was wondering if it matters if you have really really hard water and use it to put in your incubator. I cleaned the tray last night and there was lots of build up from the water and i havn't hatched an egg yet this year so i was wondering if this could have something to do with it.

I have read that some people use distilled water in their incubators. You can buy it cheaply at the grocery or drug store......I figure anything that may increase my chances is worthwhile...my last hatch was terrible!

I use water we bought from a store. It's drinking water we use. We have a well, and so not sure about the amount of iron etc. in it. So, to be safe I don't use the water from our well.

do you think that the mineral contents in the water could affect the egg?
