I just went out and found that one of my older chicks had gotten out of her pen and into the duck pen. They must have chased her into the pool, because that's where she was standing when I found her.

I pulled her out of the pool. She was soaked, but it's 100 degrees here right now so I tried to put her back into her coop. She kept stumbling and falling. So, I moved her up to the house where she can dry off by herself.

Is there anything I should do for her? I have towel dried her underside, but other than that, I'm not sure. I'm guessing that she is both waterlogged and chilled at the moment. I had just cleaned the pool this morning, so the water is at about 65 degrees.

Thanks, I just borrowed a neighbor's blow dryer (I'm ashamed to admit I don't own one)... And blow dried her on low until the feathers are just about dry. The poor girl seems rather traumatized at the moment. I'm not sure if it's shock or the body just trying to adjust. She's leaning into the corner of the box, puffed up with her eyes closed. The Bredas are normally very active and talkative birds. She has me concerned.

It took about an hour, but she has perked up. She ate some scrambled eggs and mealworms and I've turned off the lights. Hopefully, she'll be strong enough to return to the coop tomorrow.
