Water placement

I keep a 4 gal. water bucket w/nipples in each coop in the winter (near nesting box and heat lamp = no freezing) The rest of the year I also have another water bucket w/nipples (5 gal) and a large pan of water in the run. I only need to empty and change water once a week in buckets.

Do people keep their chickens water in the coop or outside the coop?
I keep the water in their run. I don't put the waterer in the coop . When I tuck them in at night, they are all already on the roost and when I let them out in the morning they are still on the roost, so I see no need to put the water in the coop.
