I just went to water the chickens, and I noticed the water is a rust color. the water in the house is fine. Its the water coming from the water hose that I'm having problems with. It was fine a few weeks ago, because we filled our pool. Does anybody know what"s wrong? its now all the water here!

are you on a well? Sounds like clay if you are. If you are not then it might just be rust in the hose, how long did you run it? It might go clear once the hose is cleaned out.

we're on city water. Its weird. I'll try flushing it for a while. How long should I flush it?

I'd let it run a minute or two. You could remove the hose and wait a day or two and see if the water is rusty directly from the house. Then you know it's the pipes inside. Or it could be the actual hose, in which case I'd buy a new one.

I hate plumbing problems - always such a pain!

its now like that all over the house! I think there may be a water main break somewhere.

Well, at least it's not your pipes! Try not to run the hot water so that dirt doesn't clog up the heater!

I called them, theres probally a water main break somewhere since its all over the house.

your spigots may get clogged from the sediment. I'd take them off and clean them or remove them till it gets fixed.

Corrected: didn't mean to actually post the above... I meant the filters at the mouth of your faucets..

Well, the water company said there is no water main break.... now what? Do you think all the rain we've had could be causing it?
