Water Shortages ???y

A good friend of mine has rain barrels on all of his downspouts and uses that water all summer for his garden needs. I'm on the verge of doing the same.

MP- who sells these barrels? Any help is greatly appreciated. The ones I saw were a thick plastic.

You can sometimes get the heavy plastic 55 gallon drums from your local waste water treatment plant. The ones I got had to be rinsed out before use, but the price was perfect - free.

I took them to a local car wash and spent about 2 bucks on each one to clean them out.

We were about to go back into a drought in Raleigh, after last years drought we were left with 25 days of drinking water, then when spring came we were out of it. Then summer came! And rain wasn't coming down, but in the last few days we've raked together 4 inches of rain in Raleigh for Falls Lake. I am just hoping we stay out of the drought. I live in suburbia and I always see neighbors wasting water on their precious lawns, but mine looks better than theirs and I don't water my lawn with precious drinking water!

This is what gets me......I have neighbors down the road from me bu in view tha water there big front yard. That isn't what gets me though, they do this even after it rains. We all live in the country and are all on wells but all the springs in the area, I am sure, connect somehow.
