Water Wiggler vs. Air Temp

I put a water wiggler in the incubator this time to see if it will help my hatch rate and have a question for people who use them. Do you go by the temperature from the probe in the water wiggler or the temperature of the air? I have calibrated the probe in the water wiggler with a medical thermometer so I am confident it what it is saying but there is a difference in it and the air temp. The water wiggler is saying 99.4 (after .2 adjustment) and the air temp is reading 101.8.

as long as the wiggler is sitting on the eggs i would trust the wiggler temp. But i have a forced air incubator, i would think if the incubator was still air i would think the temp would fluctuate a little more. In my opinion i would like the temp a little lower than higher. Higher temps = cooked eggs! Lower temps = a little extra time in the incubator.
