Water wigglers

WOW! I love it. Do you notice any fumes from the silly putty?

No fumes that I have noticed. I did consider that risk though. An alternative along the same lines is filling the egg with play doh instead. I think that is just flour water and salt.
I just thought it seemed a little less cumbersome than a water wiggler.

I did the whole water wiggler thing. Its fine, but ultimately does nothing to improve the hatch. Just more wire and 1 less egg. As long as your temp is around 99.5 for fan incy. they will be fine. A temp between 101 and 97 will average out just fine. If you are using a wafer stat that will get you close enough. I did try to use water heater stats, and I realize the novelty of this ,save yourself a lot of greif and buy the right tool for the job.Thgier are plenty of places to get a wafer, or a good electronic, and they work. I just did not see the long term value of messing around with a water heater stat. They were prone to sticking and not qiute shutting off, The a spike to abut 105 for cuople of hrs. That will kill a hatch,

I used small ziplock bags that held legbands, rolled up they are about the size of a standard egg...the plastic egg with gel is also a good idea....
