hi guys i was just wonderng what do you guys put in your water like supplement wise to help regulate body temps of the chicks

Just plain water is always best. If you do offer water with electrolytes, make sure to offer plain water as well, some birds dont like the taste and will not drink as much.

I provide shade, ventilation, and water. The chickens handle the rest.

Chickens don't sweat, so I doubt they need any electrolytes.

Wrong. Increased respiration causes a blood pH imbalance that screws everything up.

I got some electrolyte powder at the local farm store. It was only a couple dollars and made over a hundred gallons so I figured it was cheap insurance. I've been giving it to all my chickens the past few weeks since it's been so hot. We had 25- 8 week old Cornish Rocks until we butchered yesterday and didn't lose any although they looked like they were miserable.
