I have been giving my chickens water that I buy at the store and I'm wondering if I can give them tap water. I've been worried about it because our water tast like iron. We have well water. But when they are old enough to go in the outside coop It will be very expensive doing water by the gallons from the store.. Help

I give mine well water only. It doesn't taste like iron, but it has a high level of minerals per testing, and occasionally smells like sulphur.

Have you had that well water tested? Your local health department should be able to help you with that. That way you will know if it is safe or not.

And your chickens have been ok? Like I said we don't even drink it ourselves bc it fast like iron/metal.

Our well water also has a high iron content.

it will stain concrete and the like.

It is also safe to drink, and helpful if you are anemic.
