You can also check out my site below for PVc feeders. I built two to go through the walls. They each have screw-on lids to keep the rain out. Using Sewer & Drain (S&D) 4" pipe is CHEAP!. Each one has two 45 degree angles, a 6" length of pipe between them, a 30" pipe outside topped with what is called a clean-out adaptor with a screw-on cap. I still leave the coffe can over the top to avoid rain ruining the food. A big plus is the birds must stick their head inside the tube to eat, so there is almost no waste. Outside you must adjust the angle to insure they get the food, but it doesn't just dump it as you pour it in.
