wow thanks seminole that is a great Idea mine is 4 gallons though LOL I guess they trank it all and it was on top of a flower pot in a sad attempt to keep shavings out.

I do have a giant monster delaware who could have done it she is bigger than most small dogs

Henry - Putting the waterer outside is a good idea, but what about when winter and freezing temps arrive?

In order to hang our plastic waterer we poked a hole in the top and stuck a metal loop in. The loop attaches to a hook that hangs down from a rope. We've been using the waterer like this for 3 years without any problem. Here's the best picture I have at my disposal.
