I have a 1.5 gal bell shaped plastic waterer, the common kind with 4 feet, a handle, etc. When I move it to refill, I can't do so without sloshing it all over the floor. The bottom for the chicks to drink out of gets very full. I must be missing something......

Ideas?

Oh, I do too after I fill it...but when I carry it out to be "refreshed" it isn't always empty. Then what?

You might get more steady with practice. Otherwise, I can think of two options.

The first is to find something to set it into while carrying it. Either a large bucket or something like those plastic trugs from www.tubtrugs.com. I've never used a water font like that, so I don't know how large they are.

The other option is to pour the last of the water in it into a bucket, before carrying it.

I hope you figure something out. I don't worry about a little sloshing, but if it's a lot, I can see where that might be a problem.

Thanks so much for those suggestions! They're all good ideas and I will try them.
