Waterer

Is there spray paint you can paint the inside of the waterer with that is safe for chickens to drink out of.

What is wrong with the wAterer? Why do you need to spray the inside with paint?

It’s rusted. So I’m sure the galvanized inside is gone. I hate to throw it away for as much as I paid for it.

if its rusted I wouldn't want my chickens drinking out of it

How old? We also have a galvanized waterer. It is 1.5 years old and stiill doing well.

I’m not sure what you could paint the inside with. The concern I would have is if it is not meant for food /water use it could put harmful chemicals in the water. Second, it may Easily flake off Into the water.

I never thought about keeping my chickens from drinking rust water....they drink from horse-poop-infused pasture puddles....
My little chicks drink from an ancient chicken waterer that's pretty rusty. I do scrub it and refill it when it is low but they always have access to rust.

i mean if it works for you but I wouldn't do it.
