I bought one of the auto water kits from http://www.autowaterkit.com/models.htmlwhich one? The amazon or ebay one?
I just bought one with horizontal nipples - and a bucket with a float that can connect to the hose...
Hopefully it will work
Now I need to figure out a better feeder - mine take it and spread it everywhere and so much gets wasted... a lot gets wasted
Any advice on that? I stopped free feeding them because of this unless I am gone... I put their amounts in pans now for the day and give them a bit more and scraps at night.. but I would like to go back to a free feeder
Are you handy with a whole saw and working with pvc? If so, you can get a 5 gallon bucket and a large 90degree elbow and make a feeder that matches your drinker! There's a thread here on BYC that shows you how to do it.I bought one of the auto water kits from http://www.autowaterkit.com/models.html
I got the one that you have to fill because I don't have a running water connection with the cups. I am very happy with it! I am working on a better feeding option too! Suggestions are very welcomed!!

I am going in circles with watering systems.
The plan is to have a line plumbed to the coop however - trying to ensure its worth it and what system to hook up to the line/hose once it is there.
I have about 20 birds. I currently use two galvanized waterers and fill them up twice a week.
Everything I run across is for low pressure systems or too open that I think it would be messy.. I don't want anything that they can get on top of and poop in the water. I have two hens that like to sit on my metal feeders and poop in the water... UGH!
Ideas?
I am a bit "lazy" and "not handy" - so really need a system that is easy to connect or already together... something simple, that keeps clean, and is auto??
On a budget to top it off... can't spend a crazy amount on waterers
