The trick with Muscovy is whether they're raised up from babies with mallard-type ducks. If you brood them all together the Muscovy will generally consider themselves to be just like the other ducks and will most likely breed with them. I'm careful to raise my Muscovy separate from the mallard-types and that causes my Muscovy to hold themselves separate from what they seem to consider "inferior ducks" lol!
It's great for me because once they're fully feathered they can run with all the mallard-type ducks and I don't have to worry about separating them for breeding. It's quite unusual that the mallard drakes will attempt to breed with the Muscovy girls but it could happen in some flocks, those girls can beat up on the other ducks pretty well if they get tweaked so my mallard drakes keep clear of them.
