Watering Cups?

Did you purchase those water cups from Ebay? How do you like them? Just noticed it says right in the auction "Not Made in China"

Dan
I bought mine from Beaktime.com and got a pretty good price. The chickens didn't know what to do with them at first but caught on pretty quickly. The have held up well and there have been no leaks.

My bad, if I posted the wrong info about where they were made but I was almost positive that I had seen where they were made in China. Are there 2 different cups that look nearly identical one made in Mexico and one made in China? Are was I just totally wrong.

There are two different types of PVC mounts, one is black and glues to the pvc and the other is what looks like a standard white pvc snap on tee. I have asked about the difference from some of the sellers before and never got a response. Maybe the ones with the standard pvc come from China without a tee and the distributors are adding them and the ones from Mexico come with the black part. I've got some of both in my system and can't tell the difference in the water cup just the connector.

I apologize if I posted non accurate info!

I just checked this, I paid $3.19 each with the white snap-on PVC tee, the above posted link is $4.16 each with the black tee. The white snap-on tee is easier to use and is more secure, in my opinion.

The white bracket is made in China and often cracks so I stick with the black ones made in Mexico. The two types of brackets are pretty similar in that they both need to be cemented to the PVC and have a screw in part for the cup. The black brackets have a screw in area that is perpendicular to the drill in tap so the cup sits flat below the pipe and points forward while the white bracket has the screw in base that points out directly from the drill in point so that the bracket is on the side. I don't know if there is an advantage to either since they are basically the same thing.

What about using these cups during the winter? I found a heated system (with pump, bird water heater, and cooler) that I want to try, but does anyone have experience with these cups in below freezing temps?

I bought the ones from ebay & plumbed them in with 1/2" pvc but they don't seem to work as it acts like it has too much water pressure....I guess I'll have to try putting a regulator in the water line to reduce pressure..

I think they are designed to work with gravity fed source or less than 5# pressure.
