how often do most of you change your chickens' drinking water in the summer? Just wonderin if I should be doing a better job in that regard . . . thanks!

I change mine at LEAST twice a day sometimes more if it's really hot. OR if it's full of pine shavings. I have 13 chickens right now in the hen house...will add more later up to 20. Then I can't wait to see how often I have to change it lol.

I use large pans like dishpans, old refrigerator crispers, etc, out in their run and change them only if they're below half full or turning green. I have a lot of chlorine in my water and by giving them a lot it will sit for a day or so so the chlorine can evaporate.

I keep a rubber tub next to the hydrant on a pallet. I dump it and refill it three times a day. Everyone gets fresh cool water also. Mules, rabbits, goats, etc..... I have a thing about fresh water.
