Watermelon for momma hen and 4 day old chick?

Hot here and momma hen and baby do not seem to be drinking much water at all. I did see baby drinking so I know she knows how. I learned really fast that whatever I give to momma will be shared with baby. Can I give them watermelon at this stage? Seems that it would help keep them hydrated. Thanks, Leslie
